I find it odd that it's harder to get S rank on this first mission than it is on later missions. You pretty much need a perfect run here. You need to be quick in destroying everything, let nothing escape and take no damage yourself. A higher accuracy helps too but with the amount of ammunition your VF is firing... accuracy will not be your strong point.

I have this game and US PS3 60GB and I cant play imported PSx or PS2 games. Somebody please help me.

@Da1shocker There's nothing you can do in terms of getting your PS3 to run imported PSX or PS2 games. You'd have to either run it on your computer through an emulator, or get modded PSX or PS2 or get a japanese PSX or PS2.

I'm impressed with the seemingly solid frame rate, and it looks like this game could easily play like Ace Combat when you're in fighter mode. But what about the game's length and mission variety? I love Macross, but would this be worth an import?

@SoftBank47 It's not that long a game, and there isn't much of bonus features. Just a free mission mode where you can choose your own VF. The game isn't THAT long. You could probably beat it in one day. Missions are usually "destroy" stuff, but they are missions for the TV series. Like you'd recognize each mission. Well most of them. Some are missions that take place at the same time as another mission in the show. It is definitely worth importing for fans of Macross. Best Macross Game.

@fireballstardraco Input's always appreciated. General consensus about this game seems to be that this is mostly for fans of Macross/Robotech (yes, Japan treats them as two different series).

@SoftBank47 I know this is 10 months late but I thought I tell you that it is worth the import, in my opinion, you get two story modes, Macross and Robotech stories, each just as long as each other, I think Robotech has more levels though, but also what keeps you playing it is the unlocking of different ships you can pilot in mission select aswell.

I think you got about 8 levels for the Macross saga and 10 for the Robotech saga, I think, it has been long since I've played it.
