This drive starts at Duck Creek on Sunset Dr. near Vesuvius Bay village We turn left (east) on Vesuvisus Bay Rd, pass St Mary's Lake (left side) Mormon church (right side) Portlock Park (right) and the Central Fire Hall (left) At "Central" intersection, we see historic Central Hall and the Highways Maintenance yard. Turning right (south) on Lower Ganges Rd, we pass a golf course (left). The road then turns east as we pass the Hydro maintenance yard, Foxglove Farm, Norton Farm vineyard & the police station (on left) We're now entering Ganges and get a glimpse of Ganges Harbour before proceeding south through the downtown area which will get explored in a future vid. The road changes name to Fulford-Ganges Rd and we head south from town up Ganges Hill, passing Embe Bakery (right) & the old police & ambulance stations. Our drive ends just past the Beddis Rd/Charlesworth Rd intersection near the top of Ganges Hill

  • Looks like a dump.

  • Yes indeed. There is a car rental place in Ganges.

  • Cool.

Hey, is there a car rental agency on the island or should I do that in Victoria?

  • Hey, that's cool! It's a small island so I'm sure I'll meet up with you. I work for SSI Parks & Rec. so I'm easy to spot in my white Parks truck around town. Cheers

  • I booked a cottage for two weeks in June on the island. After that I am doing ten days in Tofino.

  • My insurance ran out Oct. 22, however last year I rode throughout the entire winter and most everyone who lives here does. Usually your Summers are awesome, but I know this one wasn't the greatest. I have friends who live in southern Ontario. This Summer was hot and dry so I was riding pretty much every day after work and then again on weekends.

  • I'm in Ontario so I put mine away over a month ago. The weather was terrible here this summer, not a lot of riding time this year.

  • Right on! You better get over here and ride that Harley! I just took my bike off of the road for winter.

  • Lol, yeah I would prefer to put the kids in school for five days too.

Your island looks like a fun place to ride my harley.

  • It's funny you ask because there are alot of people here who comute daily either to Duncan or Victoria. Several staff at the highschool comute from Victoria. I also know many people including school children that comute by ferry daily to the Big island. Our kids only have a 4 day school week here, but on the big island it's 5, so soe parents prefer sending their kids off island for school.
