@Anxiousfur whats funny is you think thats cruel, to the spider thats a luxury condo on the beach.... their not dogs, they are spiders, they don't tuck their tail and wimper if you yell at them. they make lair's for a reason, most reptiles and verts. do not move far so long as theres a stable food source. spiders dont get the 'urge' to stretch their legs and their vision is terrible so is it truely suffering?

My S.cal is a nightmare, but my H.mac is very manageable, but over all my pokies are the easiest to handle (I don't keep new worlders or terrestrials so that's pretty much the full extent of it). So kudos to you, hope you had fund handling!

I thought you would be more nervous holding the S. calceatum. Their bite is worse. I was at a reptile show and a girl who was a vendor bought a pair of Ts, vrom the vendor the next table over. She forst got a C faciata. Then she got an OBT and a scolopendra. I think she said those were her first arachnids. Wow! ok. That would never cross my mind to get 2 of some of the nastiest arachnids in the world. The OBT and the centipede. Hope she didn't get bitten if she tried to transfer them.

the S. cal was a pretty calm spider, never reallt bolted from me when handling are showed me some fang. this girl had a thing for leaping at my face fangs out LOL.
