  • i also need help i get passed the welcome scrreen but aftr that all i get is a black scrren with a crusor please helpp!!!

  • does this work if it stuck on "please wait?" screen?

  • well it doesnt work for xp

  • A slightly easier way to do this is as follows:

    - HOLD Ctrl + Alt + Delete

    - Once the menu pops up with the options like Lock this computer, or Start Task Manager, just click Cancel

This might not seem a whole lot different than what this video shows, but for those who have to do this every time they start up their computer, anything to make this less annoying helps.

I am still looking for a permanent fix to this, as everything I've tried has not worked yet, but there must be something.

  • Did not work for me :(

i pressed alt ctrl delete a lot of times and then the it just stops spinning.

Tried alot of things, nothing worked. My laptop runs perfectly on safe mode.

  • Nice workaround. Thanks

  • I saw this on a post havent tried it yet but other post reported it fixed the issue. ---Make a wired connection to the 'net. Update the wireless card driver to current from support.dell.com. I just 'fixed' an Inspiron 1501 with this issue -- after a reload -- and am testing to make sure the fix holds. (Dominica, W.I)

  • For anyone that has this problem. Try booting in safe mode and then do a virus scan. If it dosen't work even in safe mode then take your windows cd, boot from it and press repair.
