Basically what the woman said was, "Okay, go ahead" to the owl. Most likely, it was/is a command that the owl recognizes and has been trained as such. The source for translation is from myself due to my Japanese courses in college.

It's amazing how un-damaged her arm appears...my parakeet Lovey is the nicest bird I ever seen and he's always riding up and down my arm talking to someone(?).
Point being I've got small cuts all over my arms/hands. She doesn't appear to have any, or maybe it's the resolution. I always imagined Owl's would scratch your arm up worse than my little parakeet.
