Here's an old demo made by NVIDIA for the GeForce 6600 and 6800.
It features the mermaid Nalu (meaning "wave" in Hawaiian), showing off the capabilities of what the GeForce GPU could do back then.

Config:
1280x720
16x Anti-Aliasing
16x Anisotropic Filtering

Software:
Windows 7 64-bit
Fraps v3.1.0

  • I still have a 6600GT in my old Athlon64-based computer. Fan gave up after 5 months...but the Zalman VF-700 still runs smoothly :-)

  • if only in game models looked like this

  • I'd love to see nvidia do an updated version of this for the latest cards

  • ???

  • dat ass

  • hrmm, I used to own an evga 6800gs and now I own an evga 9800gt and it runs this nalu demo worse than the 6800gs. you would think it would be better, right? same motherboad, memory and cpu, too... I got the latest drivers. this doesn't make sense :(

  • @HazewinDog it seems*

  • @LouNGeR83 oh, i just visited your channel and it we could write in dutch too... :P

  • @LouNGeR83 hehe, the 6800 was in my first pc, a Dell Dimension 5000. Now i have a custom pc with a 3870... causes lots of trouble :/ Lucky i still have warranty and im trying to get a 9800 GT instead :) I prefer Nvidia, but its a pity its more expensive. Would like to have a GTX 285 (or even 295) :)
