  • Help:----I am not clear with the assumed political parties: Brimaji, Horata, etc. How do they constitute and be classified? Is it simple nomenclature or something based on ideology??

  • @jemahika @jemahika The parties are divided based on representation (constituency), which is to say the constituencies are based on clans (not political ideology). So, in the Oromo society no one segment rules over the other since each segment of the society is well represented in the Gadaa system. That's why some scholars say Gadaa is the one of the "most democratic" institutions ever known to mankind

  • Gadaa is not only an example for Oromos but for whole of Africa that needs an indigenous form of governance that is rooted in the realities of Africa. I feel, we as Africans, have done little to either research or explore these systems.
