Worst RC crash I ever missed

This crash happened at the 2007 ANZAC model jet meeting held in Tokoroa New Zealand.

Unfortunately I was elsewhere when the flight and impact occurred however, this video shows what the plane looked like before, explains (in the pilot's own words) how it happened, and shows the nasty results.

my neighbor (68 years old) was in the air force, and he had a 30% scale Gee Bee R1 and I got to fly it once. :) but the tiny wings on the thing made it highly stressed, and it was involved in the same type of crash the full size gee bee was in. the right wing came off during a low altitude high-speed pass, and it went down hard. he was so angry about it he didn't even try to fix it. I asked him if i could borrow it, he agreed. we fixed it in 13 days for his 67th birthday! he was so happy!
