Between the 12th-14th July 2011 the city of Vannes held its Fetes Historiques, it was a fantastic day out, the city was crowded with people and I would estimate over 600 people took part in the parade dressed in medieval costume ranging from knights in amour, the nobles, the peasants, the entertainers and the jesters. Other cities also hold Medieval festivals the next being at Hennebont on 30/31 July, at that event there are also displays of archers and forms of combat including jousting.
