Remembering Lily

This is a video I made from photos taken over two years of our Australian Shepherd Lily. She was hit and killed by a truck while playing with another dog, at my parents lake home. We all thought she was safe there, otherwise we would have never let her run free. This has been tough on us all.
We got her from a shelter on the MS Gulf Coast. We raised her there, walking the streets, and beaches of Old Town Bay St. Louis. It was the best place to walk a dog. Then Katrina happened, and all of our lives were changed forever. She was with us of course through our moves to and in Alabama. Finally settling in a place with a good sized back yard, which was great for Lily's energetic nature. All we lacked were some sheep for her to herd.
Lily helped us through some difficult times, dealing with all that my family had lost in Katrina's wake. She would always greet us with such joy and excitement that we couldn't help but smile, regardless of how badly our days went. She was such a part of the family, and will be missed by those who got exposed to her sweet spirit.
This video is my way of honoring her and the love that she so freely gave.

I am very sorry for your loss. I have two dogs and although they are young, I am dreading the day they will pass away. You've made a very beautiful video tribute that got to me a few times and I had to hold back my tears. Very well done Joel. BTW, could you let me know the title of this song and who its by?

thanks everyone for the kind words, and nice comments about the video. i still can't really watch this without getting emotional. we do have a new dog now. a border collie named stella, and she is a real joy as well, and has been a temendous help in healing from the loss of lily.

im extremely sorry for your loss. these dogs are wonderful and its awful that her life was cut short. not too long ago we had to put down our aussie after 13 wonderful years of life.
