Birds digging snow caves in Bryant Park NYC

Walked through Bryant Park in the aftermath of the snowstorm this morning and came upon these sparrows....Not sure what they really were doing but it sure looks like they were digging snow caves like my dad used to do for us when we were kids. And they let me get so close to watch. Looks that one little guy was having some trouble defending his....Of course, it was a good one. You can see how the others were eying it up. :)
