I provide this information in case it's useful. There IS a shortage, specifically of Maples but also all other silver, in the Vancouver area. That isn't to say there is none being bought and sold. What I mean is there is nowhere near enough supply to meet demand. Waits of 1 to 3 months are being quoted even at the largest bullion dealers who are "never out of inventory". This data is good only for the date this video was uploaded. I can't update all my previous videos each time the data in it changes. If it's not Feburary 2011 when you're reading this, the data has probably changed, so there's no need to make a comment saying "I bought silver in Vancouver today so you're a liar!" Please, and thanks. That said, I hope this information is useful to someone. It's what I'm seeing here, and since I don't think anyone else is reporting on this, here it is.

  • demand at high prices is small.

  • @yogiudo

I've noticed waits are down, and premiums are back to a moderate level at the moment.

  • @drutter Ah thanks. I've just started getting into junk silver cuz .999 is so expensive.

  • @starfish00000

Junk at spot price is like stealing. Spot price gets you one troy ounce of silver, with no particular form or shape. Junk is in nice round shapes, not to mention they have designs showing they are real and identifying them and their characteristics. Oh yeah and it has a face value which is an extra bonus. And government guarantee of content. Not to mention that some junk carries a bit of numismatic premium on top of it. ANY physical silver at spot price is an insanely good deal.

  • I picked up 7 pre-1967 silver canadian dollars for $17.50 each today. So it's just slightly under spot. It's 80% silver. Are you guys getting it cheaper than that?

  • @starfish00000

That was a decent buy! That's about what I can get them at as well. And hey, it's real silver, in hand, so you've gotta be happy with that. :)

  • Your right. I've noticed on ebay that there's not as many choices for maples as eagles I think the reason is maybe that the silver is finer in maples than eagles.

  • @pdlumina If you can buy sterling coins at spot, that is a fantastic by. When silver finally takes off, people will be scrambling for silver and sterling will sell just as easily as .999. I plan to sell my sterling when I think the top is at hand and people are practically begging for it. I'll keep most of my .999 if I can.

  • Ah Ha! I knew you were un-American. Trying to get me to trade my world reserve currency for shiny silver. ;-)

    Thanks for reporting!
