See, Guy is shocked and angry at how Cody is walking away from Jessica after she calls out to him. The whole point of this quest was to rescue her and Guy is angry at how Cody is now just walking off without paying the slightest attention to her, so he whacks Cody a bit so Jessica can catch up with him.

@13Orcun Completely agree with you. When I first see the ending back in '91 (if memory is correct) , I think almost same things like you , which is logical and most close to mind firs reaction: jealousy . Much years later I just see the real ending and makes sense why Guy *slap* Cody few times. BTW one simple "Hey Cody just stop and listen to her" can do the work I think. But Guy decide to make it hard way by kick Cody's but ;)

Anyway one of the greatest beat um up for all times.

@13Orcun Probably yes. In Final Fight 2 Cody & Jess is married , it makes me think Cody back to her after all. At least i want to think that. I wish they make a movie some day. good movie , with character development and good plot twist . We can only pray for that.

@XOneGameR thanks for the reply, the additional scene tells more things but without this scene it makes it mysterious and that makes the ending interesting. you can think more different ideas like my comment. i had thought like guy is poor man that he couldn t get the girl and jeolous of cody and let him to be with her or you can feed with many imagination with those lacking scenes but then i learned the logical script of it and it makes me leave of those different observations and there is stil

@13Orcun Because the US version has no sense. In Japanese version theres is additional scenes between Cody & Guy , just before they leave the room with Belger. Cody explain to Guy that is better for Jessica and himself if he just walk way and leave it with her father. Then probably Guy decide to beat to Cody some good sense and make him listen what Jessika had to say. This is the reason why he beat him at the end. I think the fight scene at the end is unnecessary.

well, there is mysterious ending with cody, guy and jessica, why guy beat cody and why cody let him and then guy left cody alone with jessica Why ? and why cody can t stay with her. although he can beat all and will they leave her alone if he go away. who did create this scene. what is logic in this ? Anyway what a nice music with intelligence bass sounds.

I used to get Final Fight and Fatal Fury mixed up because of their names both starting with the letter F, but both thave intials FF. I just remembered one is Capcom and the other is SNK.
