um arent the doors ways the same height in other countries...on the pizza packet it does say cut in half for toaster ovens, as for tatami - they smell great and you shouldnt have shoes on in the house and the wooden lips helps to slide slipper off when entering the room...use some oil on the lock or inform the landlord...use an air freshener...use the antidrip device from the 100yen store... use a lamp - or live in a modern apartment

What kind of work is available in the area? Most people seem to be english teachers, but I need something that doesn't need a lot of Japanese.

hey...well...I hope you liked the video? Anyway, I don't mind giving my advice if I can help. To be an English teacher you don't actually need any Japanese at all. Most classes are conversational, as Japanese people want to speak natural English. It does however, help in your day to day life if you speak a little, although in Tokyo you can do almost everything as everyone speaks a little English.
