Manly Palmer Hall was a Canadian-born author and mystic. He is perhaps most famous for his work The Secret Teachings of All Ages: An Encyclopedic Outline of Masonic, Hermetic, Qabbalistic and Rosicrucian Symbolical Philosophy, published in 1928 when he was 27 years old.

He was made a knight patron of the Masonic Research Group of San Francisco in 1953, although he was not raised until 22 November 1954 into Jewel Lodge No. 374 , San Francisco. He later received his 32° in the Valley of San Francisco AASR (SJ). In 1973 (47 years after writing The Secret Teachings of All Ages), Hall was recognized as a 33º Mason (the highest honor conferred by the Supreme Council of the Scottish Rite), at a ceremony held at PRS on December 8.

In his over 70-year career, Hall delivered approximately 8,000 lectures in the United States and abroad, authored over 150 books and essays, and wrote countless magazine articles.

  • Atheism is born out of distrust of the mass control system that is religion, it falls into the mass control of science and so it is born of of fear or anger towards religion and closes doors to open philosophy,

  • That is correct xcite83. Atheists are nothing diffrent than religious extremists. They supposedly don't believe in spirituality, so why do they keep bashing those who do? They chose so, just as pseudo atheists chose to claim atheism. It's because they are butthurt, they don't trust religion etc. Yet, they feel left out in the dark.. with their apathic buddy, Science. So they join together in basis of fear and bash people who aren't living in fear under the sugarcoat of atheism. Nice circlejerk.

  • @shovel20 I contridict myself, I contridict myself. Of course religion is a contridiction, if a belief system does not have contridiction it is not complex enough to be considered. :P

  • @Rents66 Religion is contradiction! We fail to compromise.

  • @daniels37 So... there have never been any reports of witchcraft in Africa? Interesting take on history. I like to tell people that up until 1650, everything and everyone was subject to randomly floating away without warning.

  • @andrewcramer13 Balance.

  • How can Manly be so wise to the importance and power of love and compassion yet have such a physically dark/evil look? Thoughts and intentions can manifest in physical appearance. Any ideas?
