Can someone explain why i would want to use 8 hard drives?? instead of like 2 large hard drives and maybe 2 SSD's? even that seems like too many. but why would i need 8 hard drives?

@24853765 they generally go as high as 600GB

theyre not usually for use as data drives, you usually download your OS and boot programs on to it, so your PC runs quicker, and starts quicker. And then use a second HDD for actual data

@HTPCgamer what about ssd's? they dont have as much space. (i think the highest i have seen is 200gb)
