  • I am the guy who made this vid. I met Chris several times. He was so very kind and humble.

I like that this page has become a sort of memorial to CW and that people have posted their farewells to him here. That was unexpected but beautiful.

    RIP Chris.

  • @tnoutside I saw him play once in Nashville. I think it was at the Mercy Lounge. It was a crowded place that night. Very memorable performance.

  • Saw Chris at Brownies on Ave A, and an amazing solo show supporting Dirt Floor at Bowery Ballroom. I f*ckin love this guy and his music. Easily top five of the most soulful cats ever. Love that his spirit lives on in Trixie. Chris, you're music will live on 4ever.....xo

  • Thanks for making and sharing this vid.

  • @MsNancyGray - Yes, that makes sense.

  • @tnoutside

Hey are those first Celtic crosses from Cashel, Tipperary ?

  • I first saw Chris Whitley on some sort of television show almost 15 years ago, and the very next day I went and purchased a CD. I loved his music, it made such an impression on me that to this day I still have a couple of his songs pop into my head from time to time. NOBODY plays the guitar that way. NO. BO. DY. I appreciate Chris' originality and contribution to American music. How wonderfully soulful. May he rest in peace.
