His whistling gets me every time. He has a way of taking amazing lyrics, poems, and other text, and making them come to live.

BIrd is singing the text of the poem of the same name by pulitzer prize winning poet Galway Kinnell. Do yourself a favor and search for the audio of Kinnell reading his own poem too. The internal rhyme is wonderful.

Wow... those are some beautiful whistle solos. Listening to this song, especially the whistling, I felt as if I were listening to a Western movie. This is one of my favorite Bird songs for sure.
