Wayne Keith of Springville, Ala., created a bio-truck gasification unit. The "gasifier" is mounted in the bed of a 1991 Dodge Dakota V8 pickup, which travels about one mile per pound of wood and can reach 80 miles per hour. Keith and Auburn University Professor David Bransby Bransby will drive the bio-truck on a nationwide tour Sept. 29-Oct. 17 to raise public awareness of renewable energy and its economic, environmental and social benefits.

  • Wayne Keith is my hero. Imagine what this would do with corn/switchgrass/wood pellets.

  • Anyone have the plans on how to get this done?

  • Wayne,

You make MacGyver look like a boy scout!

Keep up the good work. You inspire me as I am currently building my first gasifier.

  • Thanks Wayne Keith!
