A video I made using different movie and video game clips to make a "commercial" about Christopher Marlowe.

This was only a high school project guys, so there's bound to be some mistakes about Marlowe's history. I was supposed to create a fake movie trailer about the gist of Marlowe's life using various movie clips I could find.

  • horrendous. The music is not from Marlowe's era. There is nothing even slightly Marlowian about this.

    terrible

  • The assignment was to take clips from various movies and try to make some sort of fake movie trailer about a famous playwright's life using them. The assignment didn't require any music from that era.

This was only a high school project so my info was not all that accurate since his story was a minor part of the project.

  • This makes me laugh. Apparently Christopher Marlowe = Harry Potter? Except when he's Anakin Skywalker or some videogame guy?

By the way, I don't know if this was artistic license or not, but Marlowe never started a fight about food. Assuming that Frizer was telling the truth (unlikely) the fight was about the bill, not the food itself.

  • I'm glad this made you laugh.

This was a high school assignment. I had to take clips from different movies and try to make a trailer out of it. So yes, Marlowe is Harry, Anakin, and then Squall from Final Fantasy VIII.

Well "Started a fight about food" was referring to the bill of the food.

  • I was wondering - what made you choose Marlowe for the assignment? I am very interested in Marlowe - are you a fan as well, or were you assigned him, or was it random selection, or what?

  • Well, our group's assignment was to make a fake news broadcast of the Elizabethan time period. In that assignment, we had to report on some artists during the time. I researched artists until I found Marlowe, while another friend obviously chose Shakespeare. As I researched him, I found him to be very interesting and I grew a liking to him. So to answer your question: I chose to use Marlowe for my assignment because I liked him.

I have yet to read his works, but I plan to one of these days.

  • Very cool. I used to teach Marlowe (or try) to freshman comp. students. I would've loved this; sure it's somewhat inaccurate, but you're not making a documentary, after all. Makes me wan to see the full-length film.

  • HP ftw.

  • Great Job, well done!!

  • It's SUPPOSED to be funny. And if you were such an expert, you would know that the adjective is MARLOVIAN, not "Marlowian". Please don't randomly insult things.

  • Aww come on, I think this trailer's portrayal of Marlowe is close enough. Look at the commonality between the protagonists of each text: Harry Potter, Anakin Skywalker, Phantom of the Opera, Squall --- they're all solitary, taciturn, mysterious figures with some kind of involvement in violence, mischief, and the government (maybe not the phantom),

    Four stars from me!
