Hello, Mercedes is beyond words. A lovely artist. My daughter is also 8 and plays at conservatory, also on 1/2 size but with 1/2 size bow. Do you find it easier to control the 1/8 bow on the 1/2 size violin? We were just curious.

@thestringdreams Shorter bow is harder to play advanced pieces, because you have to use less bow to play as many notes as a longer bow does, therefore is harder to control. Mercedes has no choice,her hands are short, therefore she has to continue to use a 1/8 size bow, in the other hand her palms are big & fingers are long enough to play a 1/2 size violin***it's very important to use a right length(size)bow to prevent a bad bow arm (Bow Direction) though it's hard to play(control)!!!!
