It is clever but on a 4x4/SUV, I wouldn't bother with such a feature. 4x4's/SUVs tend to have an aggressive or rugged appearance. Therefore, having a towbar doesn't detract from that. + They can be useful if you get rear ended. My father once got rear ended and his car was equipped with a towbar. No damage was done to his car at all. (he had it inspected underneath too) The same couldn't be said for the car which went into the back of it! (Serious bumper, radiator and bonnet damage)
