Several thousand yrs ago, the political philosophers who debated and applied the ideas of the ideas of democratic process established, in the course of their argumentations, that democracy's weaknesses exist, as in any human organization, the usual potential for being subversively corrupted..However, the problem that brought the greatest concern (Socrates notoriously argued this point) was that the voting public would vote for personal benefits/gratification rather than a greater wisdom.
