On this stylistic level, Labirynth's reception
of PIERROT, like Boulez's in Le Marteaue, has much to do with resistance as with
imitation. Pulse Shadows where the vocal
part is given keeps us waiting until the very last and shortest of the German vocal movements for the songs.
