Joshua* was 15 and still at school his mother told him she was leaving and never coming back. With no means to support himself over the next few years, Joshua was often homeless. His neglected, rotting teeth became so painful that he took a sledge hammer wrapped in a tea towel and knocked out his front teeth. When he came to the Brotherhood of St Laurence he was in dire straits. The Brotherhood gave him employment training, and his teeth were fixed. Now Joshua's life has turned around. He enjoys a secure job, good health, and can smile once more. *to protect privacy, this is not his real name and an actor features in this video
Please donate to the Brotherhood and help parents, children and young people like Joshua find a brighter future. http://www.bsl.org.au/Joshuas-story.aspx
