we put home made litter boxes in all the corners of the the living room (dont know why ours only want to poop in the corner and ONLY in living room lol) and put up homemade baracades the the kitchen doorway..........but they sit there for HOURS jumping and jumping and jumping trying to grab the top of the baracade and pull themselves over haha

well I wouldn't stuff them in hamster balls and through at larger animals and expect and intresting duel thats for sure!!
To be honest, start up is a little expensive, I bought them a big honking cage to live in most of the time. They need at least 1 to 2 hours of play a day( they get plenty more than that at my house) Some people have trained their ferrets to use litter boxes, god bless them cuz I can't. It's not to big a deal to clean up after them.

they will stink if you don't bath them, and give them ferret deoderizer(it's a liquid you put in their water).
Most important, ferret proof your home. These little guys are tricky and will get into almos ANYTHING!. make sure your house is safe for them. look out for crack small holes, heck they can even get under some doors if your not careful.
That's probably the worst part is that if you don't take necessary steps to keep them safely contatined, you can very easily lose them!
