@emptyangel Late reply but, They were part of a tour, and this was the opening of the Tower. Happens every morning and normally you dont get to see/film it.
-
@Rleadhol this has then changed. no member of the public used to be allowed to view the ceremony.

@pyro999maniac - The Ceremony of the Keys is held a little before 10pm each and every night and members of the public are present - those who get to attend the Ceremony by application months in advance, and those invited by one of the Yeoman Warders as was the group I was with just last night. And those groups are the only onces there, besides those who actually live and work in the Tower of London.

Why does it look like you were the only ones there?
What was the occasion?

this is not the actualy ceremony of the keys and those are not the real Queens Keys. The real Ceremony of the Keys takes place after sunset and no member of the public is allowed to be present nor is it ever filmed.
This ceremony of the keys is performed every morning to open the tower of London. You must request to see this from the head of the tower of London and get approved. I was in a tour group so I got approval through the guide. Per the original poster, there is a closing ceremony as well that is much bigger and much more private.
