No there is no perental thing. Does AOL have anything todo with this cause AOL is said to be shite so it might not recognise the PS3 and blocks it. we have put in the AOL disc in uor computer but but it had nothing stopping it

@thedeadman0908 do you have you media server on?you should turn it off, maybe it will help.. its in connection settings, the last option, and the media server is usually for music and movies. also check whether your connection might have some kind of parental control, and try to get it disabled. maybe it will work

I know that the PS3 know's what its connecting to because when i turn on the PS3, it says a connection error has ocourred. so it know's what its connecting to (my internet) but something is stopping it

My friend recently got a PS3 and i watched him set it up and it worked perfectly. and when i go to settings, and click test connection it fails on Obtaining the IP Address so it doent even get to the stage where it connects. my friend did it exactly the same as i did (of course a different WEP/WPA key) and it worked. and my password is a WPA not a WEP sorry. And i know that the PS3 know's what its connecting to because every time i turn on my PS3, it says A Connection Error has Ocourred.

@thedeadman0908 you can search on how to set up your wireless connection here on youtube, on the WEP thing, is it your internet? or your neighbors?
your also need to test your internet, as many times, if it works on your brothers xbox, it has to work on yours, you must be doing something wrong

I mean my bro's one works (xbox) and my PSP can go on Google but for the ps3 its fanny'd. it says, the connection point could not be astablished. i put in WEP Thingmy and its still not working. im dieing to play LBP with my freind but it sucks. just about ready to throw it out the window........
