@Ponyositiy That is true, but dealing with such a long line ends up getting a tad tricky, and as long as you keep a loose hand and loose loops you should maintain organization of the line and not lose a hand. (so many looses!)

@nat9810 For not being able to hold herself in a circle, try lunging in an enclosed area such as a round pen or small paddock. that way you are forcing her to keep the circle. You could always try walking up and down the arena walls with her on the lunge, ask for a trot and as she comes to the wall take a few steps along with her. You may find it helpful to get lunging experience from a "lunge master" or a horse that knows how to lunge well.

@nat9810 I would suggest watching some videos on natural horsemanship such as parelli or clinton anderson. watch the way they use the whip or stick as a reward and as incentive, much like any dominant horse would. whenever she does a good thing, rub her itchy spots with it, when she doesnt do as you ask, "bite" at her with the whip. it takes practice but hopefully youll get the hang of it.

@limeabe Letting a horse run free in an arena can be very dangerous, especially when they work themselves up so much they end up injuring themselves. on a lunge you are able to control them to a better extent. You as the lunger are in charge of the area, the speed, and the horses attention. Letting a horse run leads to a horse paying no attention whatsoever to the human, lunging helps to bring them into a better mindset for working. I never use a whip, but i carry one for safety.

@limeabe You are SO wrong!! A horse needs to know how to listen to a lunge line & their owner/trainer. & NO a whip will not tramitize them! EDUCATE YOURSELF! If you know ANYTHING about horses &/or training you would KNOW a whip is a training AID!

Those of you who watched this DO NOT USE A LUNGE LEAD if you really want to work out the horse you should let him run free in the arena because a lunge lead will make them feel like they have limited space and please don't actually hit the horse with the lunging whip it will tramitize them

@123tweettweet123 No you don't, the wipe/crop is like punishment meaning your making him do before you ask nicelly with the command on however you teach your horse and you use the crop/whip when the horse won't listen.

Refreshing to see someone wearing a helmet and gloves when doing ground work, especially when professing to be teaching horsemanship to viewers. You may save someone a traumatic brain injury one day.
