  • I was in that BAND!! I was 2nd Chair Trumpet! It's an awesome camp!

  • I love that camp! I was in the second band. I can't wait for next year. ;D

  • OMG the slower parts are way too slow...no motion at all.

Pretty good overall though. Yay band camp. Msg me if you're interested in hearing a recording of this played by the 2005 All-State Symphonic Band and/or the 2006 UH Cougar Band Camp Wind Ensemble, of which I was a part. :)

  • The Texas All State recording of this? I've already heard it, haha. :)

  • I'm in the counterpart band to Roxbury, the Hillsborough HS Wind Ensemble, and we played this one at the Music for All National Concert Band Festival 2009. As I know, Roxbury was at the 2008 one. Cool piece.

  • gah! last year the wind ensemble honor band played this and i wanted to play it sooo bad. i was in middle school so i couldn't be in the band.

    this piece is so BAMF

  • WELL DONE! I played it t the TMEA all-state Junior college band! Good piece.

  • i'm in the roxbury wind symphony and were playing this song at the midwest clinic next week! it's a great piece.

  • we're playing this piece for marching band this year! It's a medley, which has this, Moonlight Sonata, Fly me to the moon, moon dance, and Claire delune. It's awesome.

    XYLOPHONE IS AWESOME!

  • A spectacular piece of music. My High School Wind Ensemble is playing this piece this year. I can't wait. That Trombone part is beast!

  • Ticheli takes his pieces at various tempos when he conducts them himself. I'm in The Concordia College Band and he conducted us in this piece this spring at the Inaugural Wind Band Institute on Concordia's campus in Moorhead, MN, and during rehearsal, he changed several of his own tempo, dynamic, and articulation markings for our performance. We ended up playing this piece faster under his baton, but it's amazing at any tempo. Well done!

  • Well, all of you who say it is too slow....I am in the Texas State Wind Ensemble and we played it the exact same tempo under the direction of FRANK TICHELI himself. There are parts that do slow down on this recording but it is still well played.

  • a bit too slow... i played this piece yesterday at uil

  • It is not a song! Use the word "work" or "piece" or "movement"!
