Mew Mew Power Edits: Part 1 (Episodes 1-13)

This video shows some of the visual edits done to the first 13 episodes of Tokyo Mew Mew when it was dubbed into English by 4Kids.
Note that I say "some." There were so many that I could fit all from the first 13 into a 10 minute video. So I just took the most important ones.

This is basically a side-by-side picture comparison. The top will show which version the show is and what episode it's from. The green arrows will point out some of the less obvious edits(which is especially helpful since the Youtube screen is so small XD). There will also be commentary on the bottom.

OH AND I FOUND SOMETHING ELSE OUT!!!! In the church scene in MMP, when Dren is standing on the cross (now a pike) says, "Did you hear about her latest role? She's staring in the production of the Cyniclons", when he says "Cyniclons", 4Kids missed an edit and the pike is shaped like a rectangle again.

IF THEY HAD LEFT IT IN, THEY WOULDN'T HAVE HAD TO HAVE THAT HAPPEN!!

It's not that they left it in on purpose. Editing things is frame by frame work. They just skipped a frame by accident. In fact they missed the cross edit quite a few times. The 2nd time in the church happened pretty quick, so you have to slow it down to see it. They also skipped a frame on Zakuro's necklace the next episode and kept the cross weapon intact in faraway shots in episode 26.

now here's something I never understood about episode 13; if it's a Saturday (or in the original, a Sunday) why is she in her school uniform? 0.o

Because she's going to the school gym. Whether it's a school day or not, it's proper for a kid to wear their school uniform when going there.

You know, I've always wondered what's going on at 4kids while they edit. "Guys, Dren's showing crotch lines! Editing team, get in here!" "Oh no? Japanese text? Oh no no no no no! Can't have that!" and "Oh my! A Japanese car! The children are definitely going to pick up on the orientation, instead of paying attention to the actual show - QUICK! MIRROR THAT SCENE!"

But seriously...what is going on there?

japanese is more creative, but im glad about the kisshu/dren thing, its kinda, disturbing to me, but my mind is odd, very very odd and disturing, but, THERE IS NUTTIN WRONG WITH A CROSS 4KIDS! ya, sure kids dont like church, its an hour of some guy rambling on about some dude names Jesus! kid "mommy, whos he talkin bout?" i have experienced this, cuz, im 12, and it still is a guy ramblin on bout Jesus, xcept, i listen, and am 4ced 2 sing, bleh (IM A DYING REBECCA BLACK DONKEY HERE!) lol

i didn't know they made changes, i watched tokyo mew mew to begin with and when i had finished that series did i find out that there was actually another version. But i perfer tokyo mew mews names for the characters to mew mew power
