The sturdiness of chain locks are appealing and very secure but they are abrasive and scratch up your bikes. Master Lock now offers one with a nylon sleeve to protect the finish on your bike or what ever else you need to lock up. Here Joe quickly locks up a bike and demonstrates the other features of this Tuff Links Chain Lock which offers quality protection and will deter anyone from helping themselves to your property. Use this with your ATV, boat, bicycle, motorcycle and more.

Today we are going to show you part number 8291DPS. What we have here is the Tuff Links 3 Foot Long Chain with Integrated Key Lock from Master Lock. As you can see it is basically a chain lock thats covered in a cloth material. Great for anything you want to tie up but if it has a nice finish you do not want to scratch it up. Such as a nice piece of equipment like a motorcycle, ATV or a bike. Virtually anything you want to tie up and not have to worry about scratching it. Inside the sleeve there is a sturdy hardened steel chain. The sleeve itself is nylon. It also has a special type of key called a disc key. This is a new design from Master Lock what it does is keeps the lock from being picked at. Also the key cover itself has a nice slide away plastic so if you leave it outside for awhile the elements will not get in there. Now I will go ahead and show you how it works.

It is actually a pretty simple device. What you do is slide the cover back and insert the key and it comes right apart. In this demonstration what we are going to do is tie the bike to this fence post. Designed well so that the chain itself does not catch on the spokes or anything when pushing it through. Put both ends together and it locks. There you have it for part number 8291DPS Tuff Links 3 Foot Long Chain with Integrated Key Lock from Master Lock.

  • $3.49 for a can of butane, $8.99 for a decent hammer, 30 seconds worth of determination, and presto! You are now a proffesional thief! The best bike lock that money can buy is attatched to your front door

  • @sevenmc1 Unfortunately, there are no 'theft-proof' locks. A determined thief will always get what he is after. However, this lock is an excellent theft-deterrent, and will keep most thieves from attempting to steal your bike.

  • Can you bolt cut it?

  • This lock is a quality lock and successfully deters thefts and petty crime, keeping honest people honest. The lock would be incredibly hard to pick. A determined theft that carries around a bolt cutter in his pocket will be able to cut through a lock.
