I took a Sunday trip out to the porion of Memorial Drive that Druh Farrell will be closing for increased pedestrian use.

I agree that this was a stupid idea, however Druh has an awesome stance on an issue I am very passionate about. Fluoride in our drinking water. She is trying really hard to have it removed and we should all be very thankful for that.

calgary is a big city, not a small town, east-west routes are lacking in calgary, this anderman needs to be fired.

but in all honestly, i think people need to chill out a bit more.. untangle your panties. . the world didn't end that day.. people had a good time.. all is good in the city. why so much negativity? plus businesses did prosper from added pedestrian clients..

I'm not saying it was right or wrong, just that you need to calm down, and maybe find more important things to do with your time. like partying on memorial on a sunday lol!

Druh Farrell should have her head examined as this lady is a total nutcase. Remember Druh got failing marks as an Alderman with an F and olnly 16% popularity. Remember voters in the 2010 election to vote Druh Farrell out and let her understand what reality is all about.

The video says residents and businesses dont want this, but the Sunnyside community has spoken in favour, and the Kensington BRZ — the very local to the area business association — is also in favour.

I attended a similar event in Ottawa back in the 90s. There they closed off the whole road, and for a much longer distance. It was just as significant a road (if not more so) as Memorial is here. There were tons of folks out on bike, baby strollers, roller-blades, walking, It was great!
