This is Liza Minnelli's show at the London Palladium. This woman is Lady Gaga's idol. she is a fabulous woman, the Broadway Legend, Hollywood icon, a real character without star cliches.

This song was written by Fredd Ebb and John Kander specially for Liza. You can hear it in the movie New york, New York (1977). Frank Sinatra - one of Liza's friend - also sang this song.

Here is the lyrics:

Start spreading the news,
I'm leaving today.
I want to be a part of it,
New York, New York.

These vagabond shoes,
Are longing to stray,
And make a brand new start of it
New York, New York

I want to wake up in the city that doesn't sleeps,
To find I'm king of the hill, top of the heap.
These little town blues,
Are melting away.
I'll make a brand new start of it,
In old New York.

If I can make it there,
I'll make it anywhere,
It's up to you, New York, New York.

New York, New York.
I want to wake up, in the city that doesn't sleeps
To find I'm king of the hill, top of the heap
Crème of the crop and the top of the heap.

My little town blues
Are melting away
I'll make a brand new start of it,
In old New York.

If I can make it there,
I'll make it anywhere,
Come on, Come though,
New York, New York.
