I found this version of the boss music online labeled as "original soundtrack" and decided to make this video in comparison to the one found in FFVI Advance

  • @Grimgerde Most games that are High quality SNES games dont convert to the GBA as well as some SNES games are not easily handled on the GBA.

  • The GBA versions sound wasn't that bad, it's kind of grown on my, besides, as it was said before, it's sound capabilities are very inferior to the Snes, they did a good job with what little they had to work with.

  • ehh ignorants, remember, snes version had i think extra sound chip while GBA version lacks it, i say for a gba rendition it holds pretty well and does it's job done, though i heard GBA is capable of XM Modules so they could use them for this game and get pretty good quality (if there is anyone to correct me then please respond)

  • @Grimgerde (continued)

"Why would a port of the original FF6 ruin a remake of FF6?"

I didn't say it would ruin it, it would feel cheap to just have a bare-bones port of the original SNES version, when FF3 and FF4 got full graphical overhauls.

"But you apparently DID buy an inferior version of the same game for GBA. "

Says who? You assumed that all on your own. I didn't buy ANY of the GBA FF ports. Why? Because I already had them on the SNES, and again on the PS. Why buy the same game again?

  • @Grimgerde Nice job getting your panties in a knot over this. >.>

I don't need a citation for the fact that they'd already been working on bringing FF6 to the GBA before the DS was out. They just WERE.

As for FF6 getting the same 3D treatment as FF3 and FF4, there's no reason they would remake the latter two, and then not do the same for FF6. It's simple logic.

"Well, the problem is, they'd been developing it for the GBA before the DS even came out."

[citation needed] It's obvious FF6 will get the same treatment as FF4..." [citation needed]

"...and a straight port of the game to the DS would ruin this."

Why would a port of the original FF6 ruin a remake of FF6?

"I wouldn't buy FF6 on DS if it's the same game again."

But you apparently DID buy an inferior version of the same game for GBA.

  • @Grimgerde Well, the problem is, they'd been developing it for the GBA before the DS even came out. So they'd have had to cancel it. Besides that, they still had FF3 and FF4 in line to be remade on the DS.

It's obvious FF6 will get the same treatment as FF4, and a straight port of the game to the DS would ruin this. I'd rather have a new take on the game with new graphics than just another port. They've ported the crap out of these games. I wouldn't buy FF6 on DS if it's the same game again.

  • @outlier1985

Then they should have ported FFVI to the DS much as they did with Chrono Trigger.

  • @Grimgerde It's not Square-Enix's fault, the GBA is just inferior to the SNES in terms of sound capability.

  • The GBA version's music is inferior, because while the GBA was more powerful and graphically more advanced than the SNES... in terms of sound, it was barely better than the Gameboy Color/Pocket/etc. And so they had to re-work all the music for any remakes of SNES games on the GBA, simply because its sound capabilities were inferior to that of the SNES.
