Al Cohn's my half sister's grandfather. My whole family's been raised around music and he was the start of it.

What a classic. (PS it's good to know some jazz legends are also human . . . I actually enjoyed that clam at 2:04 where he plays the I-II-major III then quickly goes back and plays the I-II-minor III that fit in the chord)

One of the greats and an original from Woody Herman's Four Brothers Band in the 1940s with Stan Getz,Zoot Sims,Gene Ammons and Serge Chaloff on Baritone sax. The classic group that made it's mark in Jazz history. Thank you so much for this posting. Brings back wonderful memories.

Al Cohn. GREAT! Thank you.....

How nice to see Al Cohn 'in the flesh' for once! A great arranger, fine player and a witty man. Example: someone offered him a whisky from a bottle labeled 'Elephant'. Cohn: "No thanks, I drink to forget." (Source: Gene Lees, The Will to Swing, a book on Oscar Peterson)
