Customer Reviews:
Yeah Greddy has a touch screen and Blitz has a products that gives codes but neither of them will interface with your Kenwood DD Navi like this one. Four Stars cause the double sided tape they give you is horrible. I mean they could have given some real 3M tape and saved us some trouble of going out for buy it for the price.Update: Seems ...

@photofreak777 I have been reading reviews and watching every video on youtube I can find about the 9980 and from what I can tell, everything about the 9980 is better. Trying to navigate the ipod on the 7180 was impossible while driving. That is very important to me, and the home screen trying to scroll through the options of source on the 7180 I simply couldnt do it, could of been a flaw in the touch screen, but whenever I tried to just move to the left or right it chose wherever I placed my

How can I get the gages ???

how you get the gages set up to work?
I just traded in my DNX7180 today for the newer DNX9980HD because in the manual it states you can use the ecoroute hd cable with the DNX7180 it was a misprint in the Kenwood manual. So I am getting the 9980 mostly for the ecoroute gauges and diagnostics.

@tommyarmour68 That's ashame because the 7180's menu system and screen options are newer and more intuitive than the 9980's which are inherited from the prior 9960. But at least you'll get the HD radio and voice recognition :-)

I have the DNX-7180 and I just purchased the ecoroute hd cable. I am running firmware 1.6 I do not have the option to connect the hd cable. I noticed in the video's to set it up. You need to press hd connection from navi, tools, ecoroute. Then you simply have you obd cable plugged in and you press hd connections from ecoroute's main screen. Did you have to do anything else? Was your HD connection just there in the ecoroute sub menu? My manual clearly states my unit works with ecoroute hd cable.

@tommyarmour68 You have to go to Ecoroute in the GPS menu and connect to the Ecoroute module - make sure the module is plugged in to your OBD connector. Follow the directions on the screen and it should automatically connect from then on.
