Lamay township is in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, some 45 kilometers from Cusco, Peru´s third largest city. It is the capital of Lamay district, which is made up of 13 rural communities.
Located in the Andes, in a valley 2,950 meters above sea level, Lamay towship is surrounded by mountains, with peaks reaching 4,800 meters.
Communities in the region have a long and proud history of participating in social programs.
