hi mate
im just wondering im new to photography when you zoomed in then like zoomed in even more past the normal point is there a way to take a picture in that zoom or is it just to view. as every time i try and take the picture it takes a picture as if i was only at the max zoom not the extremely close up one. sorry if that is hard to understand thanks.

Sigma 120-400mm or the Sigma 150-500mm both very decent and extremely good value.

@dannyboi50ful1 I'd get the 70-200mm and the 2x times convertor and you're have a much more usable platform with hardly noticeable difference in quality with the 2x plugged in. I have the 100-400mm, fantastic lens but limited in it's uses compared to the 70-200mm f2.8. Check out website called the digital picture dot com for comparison shots.

Hi, im planning to buy a 7d, but im confused weather to buy a 70-200mm lens, or a 100-400mm lens. I do like sports photography and fast action photography. I have heard that the 70-200mm lens has a good image quality, but it is more expensive than the 400mm. So I wanna know if the 400mm lens is as good as the 200mm lens in turn of quality. please help

What is the distance between you and the heel? Thanks!
Auto focus in video mode? I have a 7D and it does not auto focus in video mode with any of my L lenses. At least it doesn't when I press the shutter button to auto focus like I normally would for photos. How are you doing this?

Not sure I am keen on the push pull action of that lens... I have a thought maybe someone could clear it up for me..... If air is pushed out zooming out doesnt that mean air is being sucked into the lens when its zoomed in. Wouldnt that risk dusk being sucked into the lens? Just a stupid question :)

@Legacylout not a stupid question at all! very relavent. and espcially if you are shooting video, that could be a lot of dust blown on to the sensor!

hang on... did dom switch to Canon entirely now? that thing is really expensive.
