Ben Waters Boogie Band, live at the Cork Jazz Festival - October 2006.

During one of the songs, Ben's digital piano suddenly lost all sound. A couple of technicians were dispatched to the stage to fix the problem, whilst Derek Nash on Saxophone entertained the audience with some impressive improvised solo playing.

After a minute or so, the Piano was duly fixed and Ben resumed playing with some great fast Boogie Woogie playing {watch out for a few bars of the classic 'Nutrocker' added into the track!}

  • whats the song they break into at around one minute i recognize it but cant put a name to it??

  • I'm pretty sure the whole thing is 'improvised', but I think the part you're referring to are a few bars of "Nutrocker" {Original version by B.Bumble and the Stingers}

  • broken piano set up or not, its added entertainment, because we dont know, and you cant say he short changed you after fixing it!!

  • i can assure you that having seeing him LIVE LOCALLY He is one hell of a player and entertainer.

  • Ben Waters is very good on the piano, absolutely brilliant. :), though i wonder if it's not being set-up as an act, a "broken" piano :D

    Never the less he played wonderfull after it worked again.

  • ahaha! what a shame! play acoustic pianos not that digital crap.

  • Never heard about Ben Waters, but it sound's like he's a really good piano player.

    Anyway, I don't like the idea of a "broken" piano.

    A music instrument is a bit sacred for me, so I can't imagine it to be broken 'I mean, if it worth it.....)

  • Eso es hermoso que bien tocan estos señores felidades, lo tocan muy bien....

  • i saw ben waters band live at mary hare school a few months go and this has just reminded me of the reason why i brought his cd :D amazing

  • man he's cookin!

  • Hmm... funny how it's called Broken Piano Blues when the piano happens to break at the start xD .
