Laney GH100TI Tony Iommi guitar amplifier. Just a quick demonstration of the general character of this amp. It's loud, thick, and must crush you.

  • is this the amps distortion? or are you boosting it at all?

  • @GrandRiffAuto73

this is just the amp running through speaker simulation. in real life, this is one of the loudest amps i've heard. i enjoyed playing it from outside the house via a wireless unit.

  • @sloanstewart I play in my garage (which is a seperate building from my actual house) and we have a pretty large piece of land so sound dissipates quickly in the air. Good to hear it's loud, that's the whole reason I play out there lmao. I like noise. I play through a bass combo amp. does this amp have ok cleans when you roll back the gain n volume? or should i keep the combo (i love the cleans through it)?

  • @GrandRiffAuto73

I would not recommend this amp for cleans. It is a one channel amp designed for TONY IOMMI.

  • would anyone with these amp, happily advise it for someone who likes playing chuggy riffs in a touring pop punk band, please give me some positives and negatives.

  • @cheung94isalegend

For pop punk, I think something more 'marshall' would work. Try a Peavey Windsor head with a Maxon 808 or other Tube Screamer variant in front, gain down/off, level to taste. Windsor's are super cheap and similar to a jcm800

  • @themodernguitarist but the final mix was always heavy and bassy as fuck, even if it was just geezer producing the bass frequencies.

if you're not jamming with a band, it's good to capture a nice mix of all those tones through just your amp and guitar. at least when I play I try to get a good mix of crushing bass and razor sharp high end. and it works perfectly.

  • @GrandRiffAuto73

Tony Iommi's early tone actually had almost no bass at all. He claimed he dimed the mids and treble, put the bass at 0, and used a treble booster, which would take even less bass frequencies out.

  • @SkYjAcKeR666 That's what stoner metal is al about lol.

  • @SkYjAcKeR666 have you ever listened to early sabbath? or the music that it has spawned?
