Mario's first appearance in cartoons - Donkey King part 1 of 2 - REALLY bad

An episode of the cartoon Donkey Kong from CBS Saturday Supercade. Really bad cartoon and Mario's first ever animated appearance. I believe his next was the Japanese animated Super Mario Bros movie, then the Super Mario Super Show. Mario is very different in all three versions, but this is the worst.

Wow. This was before Mario was the Italian stereotype we know and love today.

I'm such a nerd I know this: at the time of Donkey Kong, Mario was said to be a carpenter. As of nowadays, Nintendo's official statements are that Mario and Luigi are simply denizens of the Mushroom Kingdom. They aren't officially Italian nor plumbers, despite the fact that they say things like "mama mia."

According to Nintendo, they aren't. I have no idea why. Though the "lotsa spaghetti" line is from a non-Nintendo Mario game, but yeah, they still have Italian names and use other Italian phrases and stuff. I have no idea why, really, I just know Nintendo's official statement is that they are not.
