@Vernedi Ye well, the majority mostly isn't right ha ;-)

@59mar I CONCUR! :) This film is my favorite of the 5 films in the series. The story has a good moral and is much more intellectual than seeing a 12 year old girl be disfigured by Pazuzu (the first one was a little sadist IMO).

@MySanitarium In that case it is no surprise movie today have poor story lines. People should have been grateful they got something new instead of a repetition of the abuse and possession of a little girl.
-
@Vernedi People would have liked it a whole lot more had it not been an Exorcist film. That was the big complaint, the fact they're expecting a sequel and get a whole new story.

John Boorman of course, man behind Deliverance, but one of my favorites is actually The Emerald Forest....stars his own son!

Beautifully performed musical score! The storyline was good. It is a shame many loathe this excellent film

I agree with you guys, it didn`t deserve to get the drubbing it did.

I agree guys, this film is so underrated.
When the sequel was announced people expected more of the same, but Boorman wanted to explore the origins of the demon and the psychological aspects.
people expected

I agree with you as far as saying that this is the best Exorcist film of the rest.
The orignal is still number one. The other sequels were pointless and stupid.
This movie was REALLY underrated. It's purpose (I think) wasn't to scare the shit out of people like the first one did, but to show what happened to Regan after, and to show who Pazuzu really was. I think it's a great movie with a beautiful score.
P.S. I like the synchronizer sound effect :)

1 this is the best exorcist film of them all by far.
2 morricone's music is breathtaking - whatever he does.
