@lvskiergirl you do have a point. however, i'd have to say that it is not sad. because while sad things do occur. they are not presented in a good enough way to truly make them sad. (i could go more in depth about this but i wont waste your time.)

but to give an example is that the thing with Itachi fails to deliver correctly because it only shows sasuke's point of view. it would have helped if it gave subtle hints of itachi's emotional struggle with it all. (i dont expect good feedback)

@MEGAS8591 While Naruto is overly happy, Naruto: Shippuden is definitely aimed at older viewers and has some dark themes, like what happens with Itachi and Pain. While not as dark as say Fullmetal Alchemist or even Bleach, Shippuden is NOT Naruto as far as themes go.
