You need to carry a high UV parasol in the summer months too, since daylight really wrecks the skin & hair. In Victorian times it was a sign of high-class status.

I love classy pale lily white skin, it turns heads in crowds, looks ultra feminine, healthy & elegant (so longs as it's light & bright white & not pasty) and is all the rage with japanese girls, since pale skin reflects youth, as unhealthy brown sun-damaged skin looks old as skin darkens with age.
