That may have been, '3', but those who knew Allen said he was "cheap"; the fact that he was forever reusing (and redressing) props and sets from his other TV shows, as well as stock footage, was evidence of that trait.

Gene Roddenberry did the same thing, numbnutz....I saw lots of props and costumes and sets reused hundreds of times on Star Trek...the Lost IN Space pilot alone cost a little over half a million to produce..the blueprinting alone was a 100 million at least. If Allen had been so cheap, he would not have had the expensive Robot, the Jupiter 2, the space pod, not to mention al the stuff on his other four shows...and Star Trek looked like a low budget shoe strong production...

Irwin Allen probably would have said, "Too expensive!", and rejected this title.

I doubt it. THe production values on Lost IN Space were much higher than those of Star Trek...
