My way of starting up the spitfire with full realism controls on, as you can see im still pretty noob at it lol, but hopefully it can help someone out.

I used ( i ) to start my engine as i dont think the spitfire has a clickable starter switch.

Please comment on any tips or things you notice me doing wrong, will help alot.

  • probably the worst game for tutorials, It doesnt explain once, how to do any of this stuff

  • @Jingleboy14 "and idiot". Guess it's just me.

  • I feel like and idiot, I had to look up a video on how to start the plane. Then I read your description about this being for realism, and just needing to press i otherwise. I can't tell if I'm the retard or if it's just that the game is badly designed and explains nothing. Cheers anyway, bud!

  • @mikusmarthu Track IR

  • How did you get to look around your cockpit so... freely? I'm doing the training and all i have to move about is the Numpad D:

Actually, +12 lbs of boost is allowed for short-field take-off and combat but only with fine pitch setting (propeller at high revolutions) and using 100 octane fuel. In a Mark I Spitfire, it'd be somewhere around 2600+ rpm and rising even higher as the aircraft gains speed (requiring propeller pitch to be put into a more coarse pitch, or pulling up to prevent propeller overspeed). Mark II Spifire with constant speed propeller would reach 3000 rpm on standstill. Mixture autorich.
