Republican presidential nominee candidate Ron Paul's answer to the question of whether or not a man who chooses to go without health insurance should die as opposed to the government paying to care for him. This debate took place in September 2011 during the Tea Party/CNN joint-sponsored Republican Party Debate in Tampa, Florida.

  • That was both sad and interesting. Sad in the sense that some on the right are so stupid and selfish they'd just let someone die. Interesting because of Ron Paul's answer. The reason health costs are so high is govt and corporate involvement. If they were allowed to fall, people may be able to help each other as individuals and independent groups. He's not saying we should let anyone die. He's saying we all have a responsibility as individuals, not because the govt or corporations force us to.

  • @surfer53 Go to my own blog, Beyond-The-Political-Spectrum.blogspot to read up on this exchange about health care insurance. I think its an interesting read.

  • @surfer53 and this right here is what Americans don't understand. The free market would lower the cost of medicare which would allow more and more citizens to afford a medical plan. And Americans are known to be very compassionate and charitable in times of need, it just doesn't seem this way anymore because the people are poorer nowadays cause of all this govt intervention.
