1. Cavalleria Rusticana is by Pietro Mascagni, not Verdi.

2.Andrea Bocelli is not a true operatic tenor. Take away his microphone, put him in costume and push hims onstage to sing a full length tenor role would be no kindness, as he'd come to grief long before the final curtain. He's a popular singer who sometimes sings arias. For real operatic tenors, I'll stick to Marcello Alvarez, Placido Domingo, Rolando Villazon et al.

Actually, Bocelli HAS gone onstage in costume several times to sing full operas and done very well at it. The first opera he did I believe was Macbeth, playing the role of Macduff, and the critics loved it. He's also played key roles in several other operas.

We have had the best opera tenors since 1890 + ó - and since 1902 in records like Caruso, Gigli, Martinelli, Pertile, Viñas, Cortis, Del Monaco, Carlo del Monte, etc, etc, etc. Boccelli has nothing to do on stage singing opera.
