They held them off 2 days in history and while they didn't kill them as "cool" as this movie, they did take a LOT of persians with them. The Persian tactics of "kill in detail" was silly vs entrenched troops in a narrow pass. You can't bring your superior numbers to bear on them at all, and there was no answer for an organized phalanx. Just basically tire them out with killing. Still, this is a very cool video.

There are countless examples of history of defenders holding off hordes.

@Axmedkoole I know how the battle actually and most likely went down,but this version of the story is much more epic.They did get the attitude and temperment of Spartan society down perfectly though
